Jariel spent the Summer with us through the UVA Summer Research Internship Program. He learned about cell culture and nutrient sensing and he got to show his research in a presentation format to the rest of the program at UVA. Jariel not only worked hard but brought all the good vibes to the lab. We loved having you here Jariel!

We went for lunch after Matteo's labmeeting to close his rotation in the lab. First BIMS rotating student in the Lafita-Navarro lab! Great job Matteo!

The lab attended the first Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics retreat. We enjoyed learning about all the cool research happening at the department from grad students and new faculty.
We also enjoyed the views from the King Family Vineyards and had a blast with fun games.
